Euthanasia Party
|
Someone said to me that they were invited to one of these recently by a gentlemen who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Said they found the experience rather traumatic, although apparently everyone invited turned up had a party and then he went off to Dignitas.
Never heard of this before, doesn't seem very private, morbid even, or am I missing something here?

I don't have an exceptional number of mates, so if this happened to me, I'd like a goodbye party while I still knew who they were.
Someone like Sold would probably find the whole thing totally confusing, and would use up a significant part of what he was leaving in his will to hire a football ground (obviously not the London Stadium), to accommodate all his mates.

Dignitas - sounds like a good name for a nightclub.

At my age I would get a bit nervous if I was invited to one of these.

Good idea. Death is still a daft taboo in this country for some inexplicable reason, considering it happens to all of us. My folks are in their late 70s and we always joke about their forthcoming funerals, or having a booze and sleeping pill party once they start soiling themselves.

Bloke probably got the shock of his life when all those people turned up at his house for a party.
